Frequently Asked Questions:

 
Can I work with Amanda if I live Internationally?
Yes absolutely! I work with people all around the world through Zoom meetings, Skype or WhatsApp. 

Why sign up to a package instead of just having appointments with a Dietitian as I need?
Over the years I've seen people initiate with motivation but life gets too busy and they don't feel like they have the support to push through and reach their goals.  My programs have been created to ACTUALLY help people get results and feel better. I truly want to see people succeed, so commitment to a program is hugely valuable.  PLUS, there is sooo much information to share, that receiving all of it through 1-1 appointments alone is just not as effective. 

Can I complete the Gut Health Foundations Course completely at my own pace?      
Yes and no.  The course has been designed to not overwhelm with information and strategies.   To ensure you are making  long-lasting diet and lifestyle changes, each module is released one week after the last. Therefore you will be able to complete the course within five weeks at the earliest.  However, you have 12 weeks access (or longer with the Gut Recovery program) so there's no need to rush - you can spend longer implementing the strategies from each module if you wish.

How long will it take for me to start feeling better?
​How soon your gut, energy, mood, sleep etc. improves will depend on what's going on in your body and the drivers for your issues and symptoms.  Your current diet and the extent of change that needs to be made will also significantly influence the speed of your outcomes.  Some people feel better after a few days of implementing the initial strategies, while for others may take a few weeks once they've made more significant changes. 

Can I still eat out on the program
Yes for sure!  This is not a restrictive diet program (unless negotiated in 1-1 consultations).  In fact, to support gut health, I encourage variety over restriction - but the right variety.  You will simply be encouraged to make wise choices.   Even if you choose to eat out against gut-health recommendations, you simply just get back on track the next day (or when you can). 

Does this program guide on the low FODMAPs diet?
I do not believe that the low FODMAPs diet is suitable or needed by most IBS-sufferers.  I have been able to get my clients feeling just as good as the low FODMAPs diet, without having to follow such a restrictive diet.  FODMAPs are discussed and may be encouraged to be reduced for a short period, however Gut Recovery is designed to improve gut health and function, without the need to follow the low FODMAPs diet (or generally any other restrictive diet).  

What if I do the Gut Foundations course and don't feel better?
While the Gut Health Foundations course covers essential strategies to improve gut health and IBS symptoms, some people require personalised advice and treatment (note supplements are not advised on in the online course, yet I often use key therapeutic products to support changes in the gut that diet alone may not be able to manage, depending on the situation).  If you do not get the relief you're hoping for from the online content, you are encouraged to get in touch for personalised support.

What if I need more support after I've completed the Gut Recovery program?
If this is the case, you will be offered ongoing support options for as long as you need.  As an existing client your ongoing support will be prioritised. 

Is the Gut Recovery program suitable for Vegetarian and Vegan diets?
Yes definitely!  This is te best option to ensure you get the right guidance on nutrition, blood testing and treatment. 

What is the refund policy?
Refunds are not offered for the Gut Health Foundations course.  If for any reason you can't continue with your Gut Recovery  program, you will be offered a refund minus used consultations.  

Can I claim my consultations with my private health insurer or Medicare?
If your private health insurance extras policy covers Dietetics or you have an Enhanced Primary Care Plan from your GP, you will will be able to claim rebates for your 1-1 consultations.  You will receive a receipt to lodge after each consultation.  Check with your private health insurer for your rebate entitlements.  Medicare offer ~$54 for each consultation.
